About Freeroam gear

Hi

My name is Jacob. I love exploring places by foot and making things by hand. I make ultralight gear to equip you for your adventures. My bags are simple, frameless and lightweight. Using a variety of specialist fabrics such as Xpac, Challenge EcoPak and Challenge UltraWeave results in a strong durable bag without sacrificing on weight. I make all items to order, the current lead time is found in the product description.

Frequently Asked Questions

To select the right torso length you need to measure the length of your back from your lilac crest to your C7 Vertebra and choose the size range that your measurement falls into. Small is 15in – 17in, Medium is 17in – 19in and Large is 19in – 21in. For more info click here to view an article on how to measure your torso length.

Frameless backpacks do not have many load lifting features therefore should be used for lighter loads we recommend a max load of 10kg. The comfortable carrying load will vary from person to person. We also recommend sliding a light foam mat or a sleeping pad in the back of your bag to add more structure and comfort. Click here to read an article for more info on frameless backpacks.

Although Xpac is a very water resistant material, our packs are not completely waterproof due to the seams. We recommend the use of a pack liner inside your bag.
